Facebook is hosting its third annual Privacy@Scale on May 31 at its headquarters in Menlo Park, California to coincide with the Privacy Law Scholars Conference in Berkeley. RSVP on the website here.
At this year’s conference, we’ll convene the privacy community to explore what it means to be a responsible actor when it comes to data & technology – across topics like artificial intelligence, social good, virtual reality, and design.
Highlights include:
- Short technical talks from a drones ecologist Professor Lian Pin Kohand oncologist Dr. Jenny Chang who is championing artificial intelligence for faster detection of breast cancer
- A keynote from MIT Media Lab’s Sandy Pentland
- An 80-minute Design Jamwhere participants will use design thinking to give people better visibility and control over their data
- A discussion on algorithmic accountability, kicked off with a short technical talk from a Facebook Accessibility Engineer
- Demos of Oculus Rift
The full agenda can be found on the website. We’ll get started at 9 AM and we hope you’ll join us for a happy hour from 4 – 5 PM at the conclusion of the day.
